Accountant (a/p, a/r, GL)

The Accountant performs accounts receivable, accounts payable and general ledger accounting functions.
This position also assists with special projects as assigned by the Assistant Chief Financial Officer and Chief Financial Officer.
o Prepares various daily banking entries for Companies including but not limited to, operating accounts, trust accounts, funding accounts, payroll accounts, health claims account and petty checking accounts.
o Maintains Accounts Receivable entries related to Manual cash receipts for monthly Social Security deposits and State of Tennessee invoice payments. Entry of write-offs and/or write-downs for allowances for uncollectible receivables.
o Post the necessary invoice batches to Great Plains weekly. This includes but is not limited to OHCA, Authenticare, Appointmate, and Private Pay invoice batches.
o Maintaining master files for vendors and general ledger accounts.
o Performing supervisory review and approval of all weekly vendor invoices being processed for payment to ensure both their accuracy and their timeliness.
Must possess a Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance and have at least three years of accounting experience. (will consider heavy experience and Assoc. Degree)
Experience with accounting systems, Great Plains Dynamics preferred. Computer proficiency in MS Office, with advanced skills in Excel is required.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
